Who should be responsible for childhood obesity? Although obesity is a very sensitive topic, it is a pressing issue in modern culture, and it is something we cannot ignore. Often the blame is shifted to other people and to other influences like billboards, technologies, and commercial, but reality is the individual held responsible for their health. “Parental behavioral patterns concerning shopping, cooking, eating and exercise have an important influence on a child’s energy, balance and ultimately their weight” said diet specialist, Anne Collins (“Childhood Obesity Facts”). Obesity increases the children’s risk of numerous health problems, and it also can create emotional and social problems. Obese children are also more likely to be obese as adults, thereby increasing their lifelong risk of serious health problems such as heart disease and stroke. Childhood obesity often leads to obesity as an adult. A parent just does not want to take the blame for making their children fat, when reality is parents are who is the responsible for child obesity. Parents are the one who play big role in childhood obesity. The Job of a parent is to teach a child to choose over right to wrong habits, which are including their eating habits, physical activity, and their overall self-control. If a child has no proper guidance or sense of direction to what to eat or not to eat and correct amount of physical activity needed, than child will have more difficulty following those routine throughout their childhood and into their adulthood. As parent it’s our Job to educate child on fast food commercial and billboards, which will help child to make right decisions on healthy eating habits. During early childhood, the parents are essential source of children’s food, supplying well balanced meals, encouraging consumption of a wide range of healthy and nutrient food, limiting access to sugary and high fat foods will help prevent unhealthy weight increase. By adopting healthy lifestyle habits, eating healthy and doing daily physical activity can lower the risk of becoming obese among many of our young generation and developing related disease. If child does not learn and follow the right ways to eat and exercise, the child will have to face many problems in their adulth
