In order to have a safe environment for employees and customers, we need to be aware of all the safety procedures located in the Bear Necessities School Store. In a case where there is a fire, a fire extinguisher will be handy in the backroom to help with this emergency. If someone gets hurt or any other type of emergency occurs, there is an emergency button that calls the front office and the administrators answer immediately. If the fire were to spread, the employees know to shut the door immediately to prevent any further damage. After the door is shut, a fire alarm is located right outside the entrance door, near the attendance office. To go with this fire procedure, we have oven mitts that are labeled in a drawer to prevent burns or contact to the skin from the hot cookie pans. Furthermore, everything is labeled with a caution sign to warn employees of the hot surface from the oven or pans. To ensure the health and safety of our customers/employees, we clean daily on all surfaces. The back table is wiped down with sanitizing spray and paper towels to clean up the hot grease or cookie crumbs from the cookies. Also, cookie trays, display case, selling counters, and the glass retail display case are all cleaned with sanitizing spray. We make sure to wash each individual cookie pan, the spatula, and the tongs with soap and water. Hands never come in contact with the cookie dough. A clear bin holds all of the equipment needed which is labeled with the proper name that corresponds. For storing purposes, the cookie dough is placed back in the freezer and the variety of drinks are placed in the refrigerator for the right temperature and closed firmly shut. Routine Security Precautions To prevent theft in our store, we have a security camera which the marketing and DECA teacher, Mrs. Andrea Barrett, has access to the footage. To count the money made during the day and to keep track of the different bills, we have a school store money log
