Have you ever strolled past a very loveable little puppy and thought to yourself, "Wouldn't it be nice to claim a dog of my very own?" Maybe you have visited one of your friends who has the most beautiful cat you have ever seen in your entire life and started picturing how neat it would be to adopt a small kitten and give it a good home. No? Maybe it is those teary eyed commercials that play those sad songs that are more your style. But owning a dog takes lots of responsibility and does not mean you have to take your pet everywhere you go. The policy for having no non-service animals in shopping premises is the way to go! Business owners all over the United States have always banned animals from different organizations. Whether they are owners of a hotel, apartment, taxi cab, office, cafe', maybe even a shoe store. What should make your store any different? The law clearly says that they have the right to block entry of any kind of critter they like. That is, if it is a service dog. But people try to say and pass of their own family pets as one. When somebody brings his or her pet to a public store and says it is a service animal when clearly it's just a regular pet, it makes it really hard for disabled people who have to rely on a true service dog to be embraced into a foundation without interrogation. Everyone wants to feel warm and welcomed and it's really odd to walk about with a guide dog as it is without feeling as if he or she has to prove validity. While I am certain these pet owners love their pets dearly, they have to comprehend that people who use an authorized service dog are using them because they need to, not because they can't be left at home. A few dogs are better behaved than your average kindergartener, but most can be impulsive. They could tear into different bags, pee on the floor or maybe plunge at another dog.
