Summary The Germans then arrived to Holland, they took away their freedom and there were new laws. Anne's father. Decided they should move into his office building as a secret hide-out. The Franks and the van Daans lived inside the "Secret Annexe  together. Then a man called Alfred Dussel came to live with them in the Annexe. At night they didn't sleep well because of the bomb raids. Their food was terrible and sometimes, burglars break into their "House . Life was hard, the eight people their often have conflicts with each other, but Anne still stayed strong. Peter, The van Daans' son, soon became friends with Anne. Anne fell in love with Peter. 1st August, 1944, was the last diary entry Anne Frank wrote. Then on 4th August, 1944, the Germans found them and they took them to concentration camp. Anne Frank probably died in late February or in early March. People found her diary and soon turned it into a book. Characters Anne Frank: determined and optimistic 1. Determined - She wants to become a writer and she says she will keep on trying and never give up. 2. Optimistic - Whenever something bad happens like bomb raids or something like that, she knows in her heart that the war won't last forever and that one day it will end. Peter van Daan: loving, brave and polite 1. Loving - He cares and loves Anne. He shows respect to Anne. 2. Brave - He looks for burglars at night when no one dares to go. 3. Polite- Whenever Anne leaves the room he would always say "Goodbye Anne. “I'll see you later."  Mrs. van Daan: cowardly, annoying and lazy 1. Cowardly - Whenever there were bomb raids, she used to say "Let them fall!"But after a while, she stopped and started being scared and cowardly. 2. Annoying - She always argue and make conflicts with other people who also live in the Secret Annexe and always complained about Anne. 3. Lazy - After dinner, she doesn't help washing up the dishes.
