Fraud is a lie made for personal gain and it is not foreign to the ears of Indonesians. This occurs in any area and happens to anyone. Moreover, fraud often fill the news on TV. There are various kinds of fraud committed by certain persons. Actions considered criminal fraud including bait and switch, identity theft. There are confidence tricks such as advance fee fraud, false advertising, counterfeit bills, forgery of documents or signatures, and fake manufacture companies. Fraud that often occurs in Indonesia, is a fraud involving a sum of money and valuables. Fraud is usually done through a variety of media. There are many ways to cheat someone, but the use of these mediums are the most frequent. The first form of media that fraudsters usually use is via short message service (SMS) and telephone. Both of these are already very common. Some of us often receive SMS from an unknown number and it says we had won a prize and will have to confirm by replying to the SMS. It really doesn't make sense. We know that if we win a prize of a particular product, they could have told us over the phone clearly or could come to our house immediately. Sometimes there is also a SMS from an unknown number asking for a number of pulses. Usually the sender of the SMS says that he is close relative in an emergency and requires an immediate response. Whereas, we know that our parents and relatives are fine and do not send any SMS. Fraud committed over the telephone is almost the same. The suspect call our phone number and tell us to transfer some money for the down payment of the prize. While we know, if we win a prize we will get the items first before paying taxes. That way, the items are already in our hands, proof that it's not fraud. Gifts that we get from a phone call must have a clear address.
