In the process of a student's educational system today, failure is normal. Mary Sherry talks about as students, failure is expected in the learning process; however, that should not encourage students to give up on their academics but boost their efforts in becoming a better learner. After facing failure or failing grades, students must obtain a mindset to bounce back from failure and overcome the obstacles set upon them to discourage their learning abilities. Students will eventually fail; but, that is normal because there is always a bright side in failure, students just have to realize that. Failure is like an unwanted teacher; no one likes it. But if students want to succeed; they must learn from it. Students will face failing grades, and must learn that it should motivate them to work harder, and that failure is helpful in the process of a student learning. Failure and failing grades will help motivate students to obtain a better work ethic and lead them to succeed in their academics. In facing times of failing grades, it encourages many students to reinforce failure with bettering oneself by working harder. Throughout the academic life of a student, failing grades will eventually find a way to them, but it should motivate them to galvanize in improving their current ways to greater actions such as creating a hard working ethic towards learning. Mary Sherry discusses her son's occurrence with the slight chance of failing his senior year, where he slacked off in his English class and where his teacher seriously discusses how he had a chance of flunking his senior year.
