Terrorism is just a word in English, but it is a hazard for mankind.The spread of terrorism is one of the most frightening situations that governments have to face. Whether it is in the small countries like Ireland and Israel, or in the big ones like Russia and the United States. Recently there have been threats sent to Sochi, Russia claiming that terrorists are going to bomb the Olympics in Sochi in order to stop the winter games. We are presented with a tough question "Stay home and be safe, or go and risk lives?" I would say we should not scare people from attending the Olympics. It's a time-honored tradition. If we do not support our team and show up, I think the terrorists are winning and I think that's what they're trying to do here. When I think about terrorism I ask myself a few questions "Why does the word terrorism strike fear into an individual?", "How could they do what they do?" and "Why would they do what they do?" This country, this world can not coexist with terrorists. Terrorism is a global issue that carries many different interpretations. To me, Webster does a great job at defining terrorism by simply saying "Terrorism is a form of using murder, kidnapping, and threats in order to change a government's political policies." Terrorists are normally thought to be just suicide bombers. The fact of the matter is that terrorism is not something as simple as bombing places. It is the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims. This means, terrorists will do anything they can to force a certain government to change their policies to what they demand. Every government fears terrorists. Terrorism is used for many things such as money and power, but the most common use of terrorism is to make a change in a government.
