College students have a history of struggling with stress when going through college; tests, studying, homework, jobs. Students are working extremely hard with long sleepless nights studying for an exam that will make or break if you pass the class or not. Which by having them stress so intensely over such a little part of the rest of the life they are going to live. Having the small use of cannabis accessible could help relieve that stress and end up having a positive effect in the overall end. College students should have the choice to use medical cannabis for the use of stress from college life. As I dive deep in to the many articles I've been reading about cannabis and it’s affects, one of the messages stands out most to me and that’s the relationship between stress and cannabis and how the use of cannabis can be a successful way to reduce your stress levels. I used to use cannabis daily for my severe depression symptoms and for the unfortunate events that led up to it I’m am no longer able to. But whenever I was using it was never to “get high” but to help me get out of that feeling of “sadness." In an article they did a test on students to find if the drug would be followed by abuse or have dependency towards cannabis. What they found doesn’t surprise me, “Despite the prospective relationship to marijuana use, problems, and dependence symptoms, reported patterns of pros did not significantly predict marijuana abuse, and cons did not predict problems, abuse, or dependence symptoms” (Jennifer C. Elliot and Kate B. Carey, 232). I was using anti-depressants for my depression many years before I would start using cannabis, but after taking multiple different pills and finding nothing was coming from it but that feeling of emptiness it would make me angry. I always found myself not being able to get through homework and getting stressed with my grades getting worse and worse. “What was wrong with me?” I would al
