The major theme of this book is about women being empowered with essential knowledge giving them the ability to handle their economic problems in the future independently. Orman explains, with clarity, what women need to do when it comes to their finances in a motivational way. Despite the remarkable social advancement women have created throughout the years, Orman explains that very little had changed in the way women deal with money. The book Women and Money provides a substantial amount of knowledge in the financial field for the women who choose to follow Orman’s rules. The book spends a lot of time addressing the many questions that various women have regarding their finances, such as: 1. How do you start a saving plan for successful financial future? 2. Why women either don’t know about, or hand over control of, their finances? 3. How women can improve their relationship with money? 4. Why she is writing this book only focusing women? 5. Summary of Section II In the first chapter of this section, "For Women Only," the main theme is an explanation of how and why Orman felt the need to write this particular book that is directed towards women and women only. Orman starts with an introduction of her course of action that takes five months named “The Save Yourself Plan”, and assures the readers why they should continue reading the remainder of Women and Money. Orman explains her hopes and purpose of the book which is to guide the reader towards an inspirational future and to provide a path that will show the reader the possibilities not just for the current generation, but the many to come. The conclusion of this particular chapter is an assertion that explains the book, one the never planned on writing, is most important book for women she has ever written. The second chapter of this section, Imagine what’s Possible, takes a look at the many dysfunctional relationships that women are frequently involved in with money. Orman addresses the reader by asking why it is that women who are competent in all other areas of their lives can’t seem to find that same competence regarding their finances. Orman goes on to provide an explanation of how the deep seated issues on this issue lie in history and traditions and how to overcome them. Orman cannot stress enough that in order to have a successful financial future, women need to address their relationship with money as they would concerning other damaged relationships they wish to save. Women need to acknowledge their mistakes, take responsibility, and resolve to alter the bad behaviors to make the money relationship change for the better. For Suze, money is indeed an extension of the self, so it serves as a necessity for every individual. Orman further suggests that we have to develop a healthy, honest relationship with our money as well as viewing the relationship as a reflection of the relationship we have with ourselves. If you show the money the respect it deserves today and carry it throughout all of your actions, one day, when you can no longer take care of it, your money will take care of you. Orman also brings our attention to a fact that nothing affects your happiness in a way such that money can. The third chapter of section two, No Shame No Blame, Suze begins with the invisible twin obstacles for women: the past, the burden of shame, and the tendency to blame renders you powerless. You must get past blame to become who you are meant to be. Similarly, shame only serves to hold you back. However, Women and Money is about facing forward, not staying stuck in the past. Oman reminds the reader that embarrassment and/or ignorance are little excuse for financial ineptitude, and tells her own story about how she went from being a waitress making $400 per month to being a successful broker with Merrill Lynch. Orman also points out various facts about the life we currently live such as: • Social security is going to replace an even smaller portion of retiree income in the coming decades. • With the divorce rate about 41 percent, many women at some point in t
