The topic I've been thinking for the research paper is “Should we do more to deal with the problem of domestic violence, or is the problem exaggerated?" I'm interested in this topic because there is too much domestic violence in the world and I would like to know how we can prevent it because domestic violence cause serious injuries. However, domestic violence can be an exaggerated problem. Some women are able to use domestic violence to get help when it is not true and there are a lot of men who are victims of domestic violence by their wives. Due to this, I would also like to represent opposing viewpoints related to a topic. I read twice of finding source instruction to make sure how to use UVU library. I visited UVU library website and searched “Domestic violence” using Academic search Premier. This yielded more than 14,000 articles. It was too much to find out the suitable articles for my topic so I add teen on research bar "domestic violence and problem" and this research yielded 2417 articles. It still was too much so I tried to limit my search by scholarly Journals but it still yielded more than 2,000 articles. 2,000 hits can be not manageable because I still felt too much hits. I tried different ways to have less than 1000 hits. “Domestic violence and causes” yielded 214 articles and I was happy for the result. The first article that came out was "Buchanan, Fiona, Charmaine Power, and Fiona Verity. “The Effects of Domestic Violence on the Formation of Relationships Between Women and Their Babies” by Buchanan, Fiona. This article makes me to investigate later because the topic is suitable for my research. By reading this article, I think I can get some good database for dealing with Domestic violence. For example, children can get affected by domestic violence. If they see hitting and hear abusive language in a violent home, they can become violent in the future.
