The term "Latin American politics" could mean a possibility of things. In my opinion, it’s expressed by its people who cause a tremendous amount of chaos over the things they feel empowered to fight for which in the end is just their demonstration of their democratic rights but that is what I’ve only thought of recently. Before that, to me it meant the power of which a political figure has over its citizens. When you look and hear about all the things currently going on in Latin America you can only stop and think “ what where these people thinking’? The citizens keep choosing the same democratic leader that has lied, cheated, and stole from them solely because it’s what they are used to. I’m not saying that Latin America is solely based on corruption for its political events but in my opinion is scary to think that these types of events happen in the U.S and in Latin America. Take for example Argentina’s vice president Amado Boudou, who has been accused of illegal enrichment, money laundering, and influence peddling just a couple months ago. Not only does he hold a high title in the country but it’s not as if all these accusation were found at the same time, one thing led to another and other incidents are being discovered which gave justice for his investigating. Argentina’s taxpayers have to formally declare their income but also their total wealth which if in the long run it doesn’t match up to the government’s earnings can bring a tax invasion. The citizens should have a higher power knowing how their finances are being handled and who is handling them, just because someone has had a high power for a while doesn’t mean they are necessarily a good candidate. Amado has had several political roles in Argentina one of those being minister to the economy from 2009 to 20011 which has a lot to do with the financials of the country along with being a member of the president’s cabinet.
