The hotel received low occupancy due to lower satisfactory level of bookings. As a result, we are preparing to be better equipped with a proper promotion as well as the pricing strategy to increase occupancy. As the overall hospitality industry is expected to grow, ADR has potential to increase. Because the restaurant has the ingredients that customers are looking for, it has nice potential to grow in few weeks. Our biggest priority was stabilizing the operation of the hotel. Thus, promotion decisions did not include many options. In the coming weeks, we plan to focus more on promotion to increase occupancy and revenue. With the sufficient amount of ingredients, we expect to increase restaurant sales. The number of cooks has increased. The table setting remained the same so that it does not look crowded or empty. Instead of fill-in work, housekeeping’s focus for this week is to train staff so that their skills increase. In few weeks, we plan to have the target level as “polished, extras” and expand housekeeping priority areas to the front, garden and conference areas. As of this week, the number of housekeepers were kept the same because occupancy is not at the desired level. Increasing the number of staff in this situation would not be beneficial. The goal of the hotel is not just to provide adequate service, but to provide the best service for guests to remember and come back in the future. Human resources’ focus shifted to feedback and complaints handling from staff-centered. As the hospitality industry is heavily dependent on the people who consume the service, it is important to pay attention to what they want to raise revenue. In addition, because the temporary staff policy is “search for most skilled people,” this may improve services provided and handle complaints accordingly.
