The novel I am reading for this project is "Elsewhere," by Gabrielle Zevin. I chose this novel because I have never read any novels that are about death and future life. Future life has always interested me. I’ve always wanted to know what happens after we die, like where do our spirits and bodies go, do we stay close to earth, do we incarnate again? I always read mystery, romance and nonfiction books so I have not read anything like this before. I have always wanted to read future life novels but none have caught my eye but Elsewhere did because its fascinating that this girl dies and she is transported to elsewhere, so I want to believe that there is somewhere you go when you die. The main characters so far in this novel is a 15 year old girl named Elizabeth Hall but she goes by Liz. She is the protagonist of this novel. Who, one day was riding her bicycle to the mall to help her best friend pick out a dress for the prom, when she was a victim of a hit-and-run by a taxi cab driver. Liz is a whiny, complains a lot, kind of a brat and has no personality at all. Another main character is about Liz’s age who is named Thandiwe Washington but she goes by Thandi. She is the first person Liz meets on the SS Nile. She is wearing a white nightgown and has long dark hair that is in braids. Thandi was killed by a single bullet to the head. She doesn't know how she got it. Another main character is Curtis Jest, a famous rock star from the group Machine, Liz’s favorite group, who finds himself on the SS Nile after dying from an accidental drug overdose. They are all over the age of 80. Another main character is Grandma Betty, she is Liz’s grandma who lives on Elsewhere and had died from breast cancer before Liz was born. Liz’s says she looks th
