Everyone has a dream, whether it’s the modern American dream or your own personal dream. Many people work hard to achieve success and their goals and by doing so they can push further to achieve their dreams. Dreams tend to change as the economy changes, as time passes, and as people change. Their dreams verify depending on the person. Each dream is different in its own way through history it shows how dreams can change over time. American dream changes from then, now, and my own personal dream. The early American dream was quite different from modern day dreams. Back in the 1800’s their dreams ranged from education to families to owning property. Many American children only attended school for a few short years and only few of those children had the opportunity to move forward and go to college. Having a large family was also important, if there was no boy in the family to pass down the family name then the family tree would stop but most family’s wanted to keep passing down the last name from generation to generation. Having land was another common goal or dream, especially if you wanted to own a farm and crops or animals. Coming from that era people have changed and so has many of those dreams. The American dream in today’s society is quite different from back then. In 2013,the number one thing a majority of people are trying to do, is to become known. Everyone wants to be somebody, to be famous, in any way possible. Their dreams are to go many places and have plenty of money doing so .Money controls everything here in 2013.There are many different jobs that can enable you to have lots of money like being a lawyer or becoming a doctor but there are different types of jobs most people consider to be a dream. Being a professional athlete, a professional artist or singing or painter, a famous actor, there all ways to be somebody.
