There are many risks associated with the act of aborting a fetus or on. Post-abortion syndrome (PAS) is common with women who have had abortions. Psychological Effects found that there are also long term consequences associated with abortion; Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) was still present in 14.3% of 217 American women ten years after aborting their unborn child. Interestingly enough, the website Abortion Pro-Con also stated that even the male partners of the women who have practiced abortion tend to feel sadness, regret and depression afterwards. Besides the psychological side-effects of abortion, women can also be at risk when it comes to future pregnancies; it increases the likelihood for women to have a miscarriage in the future. According to the International Journal of Epidemiology, 15% of first-trimester miscarriages are due to the fact that these women have had an abortion in the past. On top of all these risks, women who have practiced abortion are at a higher risk for breast cancer.
