Life is all about making choices, we should always do our best to make the right ones, and always do our best to learn from the wrong ones. Teenagers must make the right choices because they will have a direct impact on their future. Making a choice and deciding what to do can be tough and it can be tougher when people are in the age group of 15-18, as the expectation of the society are too high. At this age individuals can be very concerned with what others think of them. In the process of fitting in and being accepted we fall into the wrong track and make wrong decisions for example not studying for the test next week or skipping a class just because someone in our group decides that it would be “cool” to do so. Small decisions like this can get us in a lot of trouble because at the time of our lives, we are forming the shape of our future, our actions and decisions show the picture of our future. Living in a society like ours, it’s really hard to truly be ourselves, we all have to pretend to be someone else to a certain extent to be accepted in the society which can be helpful to us at some levels. It can be beneficial to us if we decide to be or “pretend” to be someone who is worried about their future and their life tomorrow, it can also be damaging if we become what might be thought of being rebellious and some people might find it impressive, but the consequences will be shocking. Much of the blame for failure has been placed on peer pressure and the society. However, what cannot be ignored is that it is our initial free choice to begin taking wrong decisions. This free choice is the decision that leads us into failure and it is not the responsibility of the society to protect a person from themselves. In the 21st century, being a teenager is one of the hardest things possible, because of the expectations put upon us. There are moments of weakness in which we might do things which we are not proud of. As a teenager one of the main thing which all teens suffer from is ‘Peer Pressure” in the start we don’t want to skip a class, we don’t want to fail the test and most of it all we don’t want to get suspended from school, but because of peer pressure and in the struggle of fitting in we do all of these thing, some might not get suspended but the others are always done. This is the first step of getting in the "cool" or "popular" group. Some might go back to their routine because of their parents and some will rebel against their parents and teacher they are the children who proceed to the next step, which is drugs.
