Exploring things outside the academy is one of the stepping stones in facing the real world before we toss our graduation cap in the air. As part of our requirement as a tourism student, we had our educational tour in Pasay last March 3, 2015. Many of us had panicked, including yours truly, when the coordinator informed us that the call time is six in the morning and that we have to leave UE Recto Manila at 6:30AM. Complaints were raised. Nonetheless, we still have to comply with the said time but on that day, we wait until 7:30AM, and that was very disgusting. During the day itself, I saw a lot of excited eyes as I put my things in the bus and waited for my friends to arrive. It was quite disappointing to know that we forced ourselves to wake up as early as five in the morning so that we could go to the meeting place before the departure time. Little did we know that we only left the place at seven in the morning. I was a bit worried the whole trip because I was not feeling well and I heard that Macro Asia is strict about having sick visitors because it may affect their safe production of foods. I am not sure what time it was when we reached Macro Asia. First, we watched a clip about the company's history and the company's accountant gave us a brief lecture about the company's production management. Moreover, they showed how their products are being processed in the production area. I also learned that some of their products are made-to-order by different airlines around the world. I learned that Macro Asia Company is owned by Lucio Tan who is one of the major shareholders of University of the East. At the back of my mind, I assumed that this tour must be free because Lucio Tan owned that company. After discussing, we went to the different facilities where the products are made.
