Because most of social networks are free, and anyone can sign up for membership, businesses that are using sites as their marketing tools are able to reach massive numbers of customers. Facebook alone, to illustrate, has over a billion users. Not only do individuals and small businesses advertise on social sites, but also some national corporations such as Nike and Oreo are reaching their customers via Facebook. The reason marketing through social sites is effective is not just that it offers free marketing; it is far more than that. By advertising on network sites, businesses can send information to customers in the fastest way.
