The American Revolution began in the 1770’s, as the American colonists start to raise fight against the Europeans in proclamation of their independence. Many events took place during those years, which gave an unexpected turn for both the Europeans and American people. The participation of important figures like George Washington, King George III, Henry Knox, etc. played vital characters thru the transition of the war. King George III took decisions over the colonies that were only beneficiary to England. He strongly believed the American people were some sort of property he could collect money from, so he tried to do as they grew. As the economic situation in England started to decreased, King George decided to raise the taxes for the colonies, which enraged the colonists, not only for the taxation, but because of their null representation in Parliament. The British troops situated in the colonies were at command of Thomas Gage, who was replaced by William Howe, for orders of George III. Howe showed great leadership skills, and due to his recent victories, like the battle of Bunker Hill, among others, were the deciding factors to relieve Gage off his position, and take command of all British forces. On the other side was George Washington, who didn’t have much military experience prior taking command of the Continental Army. He participated in backwoods warfare, experience that didn’t result very successful for him, and which was very different for what he was taking responsibility for. After several years of being away from military life, and the lack of experience in commanding large armies, George Washington recognized his skills in commanding the Continental Army were limited. Washington encounter several problems through his stay at Boston. Most of the enlisted soldiers were not properly trained to fight, and had no knowledge on military services.
