Memorials were created so that it could commemorate individuals and events because it leaves a mark on the world. Humans make memorials so that they can pay their respect to the people or the events that has taken place in that past. The footsteps that has been left on everyone’s lives needs to be shown to the public. There are many ways in which a memorial can represent people or an event and some ways would include a son, a scrapbook, a monument or a place of remembrance. A monument can be significant by size, material, location and the purpose of the monument. These are the factors that can effectively display achievements. Location is one of the most important things that a memorialist should consider because you should have a memorial in a place where it is open space and has some sort of significance. Putting a memorial in a place in a covered place without any nice visible view of the memorial would not bring it attention at all. For example, a memorialist can have the memorial at a beautiful park, cemetery, or near the capital. There is a statue of Christopher Columbus in Riverside Park, Easton, Pennsylvania and this a great place to have a memorial for the man who discovered the new world and open the western world for the eastern world. The atmosphere of this statue is great because it’s at a peaceful park where people would stroll and they would be able to see this statue.
