As humans, we have both a body and a soul that work together to unite our human nature. It is our human nature to need specific direction in our life so we don't wonder around life but instead make a pilgrimage in the course of our lives. Sometimes the direction we need comes from ‘Role Models’ we have in our lives, we can view this role models and gain direction to live a happy, habitual, good life. We can choose to use this philosophy as a sort of compass to guide us through life giving the direction course in which the journey should travel. This Journey will lead us down a path of self discovery, hardships, sacrifice, decisions and in some instances suffering. Philosophy essentially gives the intellectual mind the tools and ability to become better humans by teaching the should to make better choices. Philosophy is the love of Knowledge and the human nature, and by nature i mean a habitual behavior that is inherent, is to know the goodness of truth and justice. I will narrate the story of a person we will call Alex, who is close to me, that for a time let his life wonder instead of giving it direction. Alex has had a hard life since the beginning being an unwanted surprise child, being born prematurely with underdeveloped lungs and spending his early life extremely delicate medical emergency care. Because of his troubled early years Alex’s parents became apprehensive and overprotective over him. They wouldn't let Alex live the life of a normal child in fear he might severely injure himself. When Alex was nine years old his parents went through a very ugly divorce. Alex and his brother ended up living with their dad as their mom was found to be an alcoholic and mentally unstable to care for her children. Alex’s father a successful software engineer traveled a lot for work and so he would leave his 2 sons home alone constantly. One could say his father turned into an absent father figure. This led for his children to fend for themselves in all aspects of life. Alex
