Our universe is full of secrets and contains inexplicable puzzles. Sometimes it is really hard to explain the things from one point. We try to interpret them from different views and angles, so other people could understand it. However, people accept the information differently depending on their own beliefs. Some people prefer to relate it to the science, when other people relate it to the religion. Thus, religion and science played major role in the people’s understanding of inexplicable things in the novel "Flight Behavior," by Barbara Kingsolver. Things as behavior of butterflies, global warming, and climate change were major puzzles in the novel. The wonder of the nature and behavior of its habitants find various explanations in both, religion and science. The relationship between religion and science in the novel draws us conflict and different views. Applying to scientific approach, scientists assume that various processes and events concerning to butterflies take place due to natural causes instead of some divine forces. Religion, on the other hand, is closely connected to faith that is a profound concept in Christianity, gives different explanation; novel gives us a lot of informative knowledge that makes us one step closer to the science. First of all, the main character of the novel, Dellarobia had no idea that number of the butterflies moved to Appalachian Mountains because of some reasons. At the beginning of the novel, having an opportunity to see such beautiful butterflies gives her an idea of miracle that exists in the world. Narrator describes the moment: “The fire was alive, and incomprehensibly immense, an unbounded, uncountable congregation of flame-colored insects” (53). After noticing the movement of butterflies, Dellarobia could not come up with explanation for such miracle. Science or religion could not help her with that; all she wanted to do was just to enjoy the beautiful scene of butterflies. However,
