Liberty has been transformed into countless meanings since the beginning of time till present day. American society would like to believe that we have been sculpting the meaning of liberty to perfection over time. Unfortunately, the American people get to comfortable within the boundaries of modern liberty. Our society tends to crawl back into their shell when a significant problem is presented to us. In the time of unity, we become to independent on ourselves and fail to address the problem that is present and as a result the problem will only worsen. When modern liberty is discussed among us, the words “free” and “private” tend to be the basis of the discussion. These very words are creating a paradox for the American people. We want our community to be free and be able to exploit the pleasures of privacy, but at the same time we do not want our citizens to become completely numb to the things that are happening outside our country let alone the very issues that are occurring within our border lines. This is the issue when it comes to modern liberty. Our society has been extensive on modern liberty and because of this we have lost an essential attribute to serve our community fully. Our government has been critical when it comes to the laws of modern liberty, and because modern liberty has been so crucial for us, we have drifted into a maze of privacy and freedom and its seems like we don't want to find an exit. The more we elaborate on modern liberty, the more we try to perfect it for us individually. In a sense that “What would be better for me exclusively, or privately when it comes to liberty?” rather than “What would best depict liberty for our community?” Our society falls deeper, and deeper into a rift of ignorance.
