It is an innate human desire to find companionship, share ideas and even compete with one another. Social media websites were created because people had these desires and they wanted better connections. Most of the information people share is about their successes and are posted to illustrate their superiority. It is possible to comment in a shallow way by just showing approval or disapproval and receive comments even if there is no deeper conversation. Some of the media population has branched out through these sites to include people from different cultures and beliefs. Due to the wide range of people and their anonymity, some of the sharing online is brutal. People say things they would not say in a face-to-face conversation. Their views are shared indiscriminately and with no censorship. The interactions can be cruel and serve no good or valid purpose. Cyber bullying has become a big problem especially with teens.
