Globalization is the process by which countries and cultures all over the world connect, and network is formed through trade, communication and interdependency. Globalization forms a major role in the relationship between countries, forging international bonds. The import and export that globalization has facilitated inevitably impacts culture, the environment, safety and other relevant ideologies. “Globalization describes a process by which national and regional economies, societies, and cultures have become integrated through the global network of trade, communication, immigration and transportation” [Lex14]. Before, Globalization was seen as mainly affecting the economy in terms of trade and international capital flow, but more recently Globalization the term has been extended to include things such as media influence, technology and culture. In this essay I will explore the various ways in which Globalization affects the world. Generally speaking, most people either seem to be vehement supporters of Globalization, or completely against it. One might question why any given person would be against global integration and the establishment of interdependent relationships that seems to be a noble cause. As with most things in life globalization has its positives as well as negatives. The good side of globalization is the efficiency in business markets as well as the job opportunities it creates on a local and international scale. “Business can communicate efficiently and effectively with their partners, suppliers, and customers and manage better their supplies, inventories, and distribution network.”[Pan11] Because of globalization, local businesses are given access to international markets thus expanding their profit margins. Even though the system of globalization is meant to improve and uplift third world countries, a lot of the time the resources that third world countries are able to provide are exploited. This leads to rich countries getting richer and poor countries staying poor. When multi-nationals who are known for a producing goods of good quality, infiltrate a country, it sets the bar extremely high for local competitors of said multi-national. This could mean that local enterprises are undermined and not given the same opportunity to expand their markets given who they are competing with. We should bear in mind that because multi-nationals are generally extremely wealthy establishments it costs them almost nothing to invest in their business when one considers how much they are making in return. Globalization leads to tight credit because of the international competition and this puts many countries in gross debt, unable to fish themselves out of it. [Pan11] Culture rules every aspect of an individual’s life, from the music they listen to, to the clothes they wear, every single person is governed by culture and ideologies surrounding culture. Across the globe there are thousands of cultures, which over time have been impacted and altered by globalization.”Globalization has propagated economic opportunity, elevated human rights and improved access to information, technology and goods for people all over the world. Critics argue that these benefits have come at a steep price: the sacrificing of regional cultural identity for Western ideal
