A. Summary  The Video clip “Want to track your kid? There’s an app for that” is about an app that can track your kid’s smartphone, in fact there are several of these apps. The app can track and follow the kids’ activity. Locate their location and activate camera to record audio and video. Dr. Keith Ablow is a psychiatrist. In the video clip he discusses the app’s function with three reporters from Fox News. He says we have to get back psychologically to a place where people communicate, where they have integrity and look in the eyes of their kids and know in their heart what they are doing because they are connected to their kids emotionally. Dr. Keith Ablow talks of the complex problems about the communication between parents and their kids. The solution of the problem he talks about is that parents have to sit down with their kids and put technology away and talk with them. The parents have to respect their kids’ privacy and have to trust them instead of tracking them with the new apps because tracking apps erode the relationship between the parents and their kids. B. Discussion I. How Can You Benefit From Owning A Child GPS Tracker? The statistics about Kidnappings and missing persons are not good reading. Over 80% of missing persons are under the age of 18 in the US alone. That is a huge problem, when children go to school their parents want to know they are safe. The GPS tracker came out after the 9-year-old kid Amber Hagerman was abducted and murdered in Texas in 1996. The positive thing with this GPS tracker is that it has useful features specifically designed to track and locate a child’s location.
