The fist step to becoming a good basketball player is to stretch. A good basketball player should always warm their body up before playing any game. You should do anything to get your blood flowing and muscles stretched out. It is good to stretch so that you wont twist your ankle or break a leg. There is a lot of running in basketball and not stretching will cause you to pull a muscle while sprinting. You should also eat before you start playing. This includes learning what a foul is, how to dribble, how to shoot, what a rebound is and more. There are many resources out there to find out how to play basketball. If you know someone who knows how to play basketball, ask them to teach you some of their tricks or tips on playing. Also this way you do not have to figure it out alone.
