There are millions undocumented immigrants in the United States and 11 million foreign nationals among them. President Barack Obama believes that Immigration system of United States is broken. He offers to make some changes in our immigration system. There are couple of flaws in Immigration System of United States. Obama’s Immigration Plan should be partly accepted, because that has changes, that are necessary for american immigration system. The first point of Obama’s Immigration Plan is the tighten border patrol. President Obama wants to increase chances that anyone attempting to cross the border illegally will be caught and sent back. That should reduce the number of unaccompanied children crossing the border illegally. President’s actions will also centralize border security command-and-control to continue to crack down on illegal immigration. (The White House) Obama wants more resources for protecting the border, so nobody can get in the U.S. illegally. There are a lot of gangs which are crossing the border to transport drugs such as cocaine, heroin and other type of drugs. The border is not enough protected, that consists of fence. Such protection is so weak, even women are able easily cross it for 18 seconds. (Germano) There are also not enough border patrols. The strengthening of the protection of the US-Mexico border can decrease the number of drug transporting, also there will be almost no chances for anyone else to get in U.S. If first point of Obama’s Immigration will be passed then ANYONE else would be able to get in the U.S. Except gangs and drug transporters, there are harmless illegal immigrants, who doesn’t do any crimes. They came to U.S in spite of challenges and risk of to be caught and even killed. They are paying a lot of money and passing through pain and suffer just for coming to U.S.(Germano) And now I ask myself, actually why do people migrate? Why do they leave their home, their families? Doesn’t that hurt them? No, it does. But they are willing to migrate because there are no conditions for life in their country. Their country is not able to provide job to the people and give them wages enough for life because of poor economy. The government provides job only for few, who has some relationship at least with one of the government worker. (Germano) And what about the rest of population, what they should do not to die of hunger? They have no choice except go to U.S to earn some money to survive and for future of their children. One of them is Manuel, main character of J.P.Bone’s novel. He, husband and father, is willing to go to U.S. to earn money and to make his dream true - being able to buy clothes, toys and even milk for his little child.(Bone 18) Such people as Manuel go to U.S. to survive and to save their families from hunger, and are some difficulties or risk of death able to stop them, who have nothing more to lose? In spite of the tighten border patrol people will continue trying to cross the border, even if the previous methods won’t work, they will probably find another way to cross the border. Those parents who are not able to cross the border, pay money to “peligro” and sent their childs to U.S. One of those childs was my friend. His parents sent their single child to country where he has nobody. He said: “I was sent to nowhere, where I had nobody and nothing, but that was better than life I had in Guatemala. I realized all danger and difficulties which I should face to. But even if I was not ready for that I had to do that for my future, for my family’s future, for future where my parents won’t need to work 20 hours per day, where they will live in house with all conditions ”. He told me his experience of crossing the border. He spent 3 months for crossing the border, 3 hard months without water and food, with 2-3 hours for rest per day, full of danger, terror, risk and fear of being caught or killed. The 16 years
