We live in a society where it is essential to have health care, however not all Americans can afford health care. Health care is something that we should all receive in order to be healthy as possible. In 2010, President Obama made it a bit easier for these individuals to receive health care by signing the federal health reform into law. Some Americans say that the health care reform that President Obama has establish provides all citizens with the health care insurance that they need, however some say that it does not benefit us. In his speech, President Obama states that, “the driving idea behind the reform has been to end insurance company abuses and make coverage affordable for those without it.” He has created a medical health plan that will provide all Americans with the health insurance that they need regardless of their culture, race or income. The reform was generated to help Americans live a better and healthier life because they will be able to have regular doctor visits for any medical conditions they have. He created the reform because there were so many individuals that could not afford health insurance and/or some employers do not offer medical insurance. Another reason is because of their medical history and are denied or dropped by insurance companies. “The average American has a lot to gain and little to lose, while those making more including larger firms and consequently their employees, may notice negative financial effects” (ObamaCare). Individuals who get the ObamaCare will acquire health insurance, however some individuals will receive better benefits than others. Many citizens believe that it is not fair to provide others with better coverage because we are all supposed to be equal and should be treated fairly. “People who have more money believe that they should receive a different kind of health care than those who do not have as much money” (Squashed).
