Introduction Climate change has been a major issue that humans are facing since the beginning of the 20th century. However recently, people are not giving enough importance to this problem. They are more focused on other problems that can be forgotten in less than a week. In the article “Climate activism is doomed if it remains a left-only issue”, Jonathan Freedland claims that climate change will not be solved on its own and it needs the support of both political wings. However, this issue can be resolved without the intervention of politicians. It can easily be solved by major NGOs and the people awareness. Summary In his article, Jonathan Freedland claims that climate problems will not be resolved on its own. He lists many climate change problems that society is facing. Then, he gives different solutions to those problems. Assessment In his article, Jonathan Freedland argues very logically and accurately on how people are reacting to the climate change problem. They are not giving enough importance to it. And this is due to the media. They are giving out stories that may be urgent but not that important. Moreover, he criticizes on the fact that people are actually waiting for someone to drop from the sky and solve the climate change problem. In addition, the author provides solutions. He said that no problem would be resolved if only one political party consider the issue. He interpreted this idea fairly by stating: “if the threat to our planet is a preoccupation confined to only one half of the political spectrum, meaningful action will never come”.
