Political Perspective - Left-Winged Authoritarian

After completing my social and economic survey, I discovered that I am a left-winged authoritarian, but I lean more towards the center than the far left. This is because I am still young and therefore have not yet developed my socioeconomic opinions completely. My social and economic perspectives can be broken down to two main sides, the economical side and the social side. My economic perspective is left-wing, so I believe that the government should control both business and trade for the sake of a having a more stable and reliable economy, and when is comes to my social perspective I lean slightly towards authoritarian, this is because I believe that the government should have some sort of control over society and social problems. Therefore a left-wing authoritarian is someone who believes that the government should have some sort of control over both the economy and society. I think a lot of factors have affected my social and economic perspective, mainly due to the fact that during my life I have traveled and lived in various countries with different cultural, social and economical views. As a child I lived in the Middle East where everyone around me was conservative and there were a lot of cultural influences on society. Then I moved to Canada where it was a much more liberal and multicultural society where there was not really a dominate culture, and then after living in Canada for six years I moved back to the Middle East, but I still visited Canada on a regular basis. This allowed me to constantly see the difference in social perspectives between Canada and the Middle East. Traveling so much and living in different countries has made me more aware of global politics and other cultures and beliefs. I think traveling a lot has had a great impact on my social perspective due to the fact that I have experienced many cultures and met people from various places.
