Tsingtao and Seattle are two famous travel cities where I have been. Tsingtao is an economic and cultural center, and also an important international seashore tourist resort in China’s east coast; Seattle is also a significant economic and cultural city in the Pacific east coast. I grew up in Tsingtao, and I am studying in Seattle. A comparison of Tsingtao and Seattle has several similarities through weather, geographic position, and transportation, but also a great number of differences among them. First of all, people are most likely to feel the weather of the city. Likewise, Seattle was a temperate oceanic climate and Tsingtao was a temperate monsoon climate, in a way, they have similar weather. They are not very cold in the winter and not very hot in the summer. The temperature of Seattle ranges between 7 to 15 degrees Celsius; Tsingtao ranges 8 to 17 degrees. In other words, they both have suitable temperature. Not only temperature, but also rainfall is alike. Tsingtao and Seattle are located next to the sea, so they both have abundant rainfall. Although their rainfall is heavy, Seattle’s 941 mm mean annual precipitation is more than Tsingtao’s 631 mm mean annual precipitation. Because of their abundant rainfall, the air is wet in both of these two cities. Especially in Tsingtao, Chinese are used to dry clothes in sun, so sometimes people need to dry for a long time in Tsingtao. Second, as for geographic position, while both of these two cities are similar, there are still some differences. Tsingtao is located in northeastern China across the sea with Japan, North Korea and South Korea, while Seattle is located in northwestern United States. Also, they are located on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. Tsingtao is on western side; in contrast, Seattle is on eastern side. Although they are both on hilly land, there are still some differences. Tsingtao is low-lying east to the west?but Seattle is low-lying north to south. In sa
