Guy Garcia in his first chapter “Samson Shorn” starts talking about the activities in a ballroom at Cipriani Wall in order to introduce his concept of “men being left behind.” Garcia begins explaining his concept by showing scientific evidence that proves how men are in danger of extinction because of their chromosomes. According to Prof. Genny Graves and other scientists, Y chromosome might be gone in ten million years. Graves also stated once that there could be some men nowadays who already lost their Y chromosome. Garcia continues with a deeper analysis of the chromosomes and how they interact with each other in the female egg to create a man from a woman. He also shows how recent studies proved that the hormones, that Y chromosome pumps, are what shape men physically and emotionally different than women, and how they are the cause of the difference in behaviors between the two genders. Gracia then makes a transition to schools in order to prove his concept. He represents the history of the two genders in schools by statistics to show how men are losing it even in the education system. He shows how men in the past were the majority in schools, but now women are more than half of all college students. Women also are earning the majority of bachelor degrees in variety of different majors such as math and social sciences.
