A hero is a person who is highly looked at and modeled after. Some characteristics of a hero are honorable, brave, smart, courageous, helpful and just. These characteristics are shown in many characters in stories we read and in movies we watch and even people from history. Some people or characters that can be classified as heroes could be Iron Man from the movies and comics, Ralph from lord of the flies, and the United States marines. A hero that stands out to me is Iron Man. Iron Man from the movies is a man who has had many problems in his life such as the death of his parents, fighting a drinking addiction and having to run a multimillion dollar company. His parent’s had died by an “accidental” fatal car crash that was planned by his rival competitor. He had gone to a weapons facility to test a new weapon for stark industries but, midway through the testing he was attacked and kidnapped by a gang of terrorists led by the sin-cong revolutionary (Iron Man, marvel). They had put him in a cell with an elderly scientist from Russia but due to a wound caused by flying shrapnel during the attack he didn’t have much time to live. So the scientist came up with a fake heart to be placed in Tony Stark and together they came up with the idea to create a suit to break them out of the cell and get them back home. The day came when they had completed the suit but during the escape the scientist had sacrificed himself for Tony in order for him to get away safely and that is where the name Iron Man had come from due to the fact that the suit was made up of scrap metal that they had found lying around. He was then rescued and returned home with the help from his friend Rhodes who was in the military. From that day on he had sworn to protect everyone he knew and would stand up for what is right.
