Question Why people still believe the MMR vaccine is connected to autism? Response The MMR vaccine is a treatment to prevent measles, mumps and rubella. Children receive this vaccine in two doses: The first one when they are 12 months and the second one when they turn 6 years old. By 1998 a research made by A British medical researcher Named Andrew Wakefield confirmed in many points of how the MMR vaccine was linked to autism. Autism is a mental disorder condition that affects the kid ability to communicate and interact with others The way kids who had received the vaccine were starting to show signs of autism caused a controversy overall and even though this same kids received other type of treatments by the same time they had the vaccine, parents were still blaming the vaccine as the cause of this condition. By this time parents took one step ahead and stop giving kids the vaccines to prevent them from getting autism. Wakefield knowledge and point of view was not the only one being express in this study after confirming that his actions were fraudulent and out of place. An investigation held by a journalist from the Sunday Times named Brian Deer put Wakefield in the eyes of society after confirming That Wakefield created Fraudulent Information with different people interestt and ethical conflicts ,but all this help other people to conduct studies about this condition to confirm this results by 1998 after the research came out different epidemiological studies regarding this vaccine and its link with autism were undertaking, the reviewing of this material confirm no link between them. After the truth came out the Lancet retract the information and the study should of have never came out therefore it was deceived. On the other hand Wakefield was found guilty for providing false results and alter information that caused kids dead for the increase of incidence measles had for not delivering the vaccine to kids when they had to have it
