College is a new experience that has man challenges and trials that one will go through and learn to adapt to. There are those have to adapt to being in classroom for an allotted time, because they have been able to come and go as they please and staying in a classroom is something they are not used to. Another thing that will change in college is how to interpret and perceive assignments, comments and questions that are presented to you. It is important to be open minded and understanding in college or you will be confused. Davis always thought he was a good reader and writer and understood literature until he entered college. He didn’t know college would have a different way of viewing thing in the aspect that he had. The professors wanted him to interpret the writing more in-depth like they understood rather in his own terms. Davis knew that achieving this would require him to make changes in his life. Davis decided to change from his English major to business as he felt he could not persuade himself to make the change to become some that he wasn’t and needed to be a successful English major. Davis was an avid writer in high school and most of his writing had more personal aspect to it because he put his all into his pieces and wanted them to be understood from his personal view like he saw.
