It's been months since this new level of hell started. Months of loved ones turning, and survival being far more important to people over any type of bond anyone once had. Families seem to stick together a lot easier than friends, blood is thicker than water. If only this insane horde of flesh eaters never existed, if only these zombies would go away. Rain wasn't necessarily a blessing but at least it was a free drink when needed, they had to save water somehow. Chloe swiped the rainwater off her face again trying to keep her eyes focused for anything moving in the distorted darkness. She couldn't hear if anything was out there over the thunder, and she knew that a decent defensible shelter was needed if she and her team wanted to survive the night. Chloe jumped as a hand tapped her on the shoulder, looking back slightly at her few companions she nodded when Evan, her younger brother, nodded in a direction following his gaze she saw what looked like an old cabin. "You think it be good for the night?" He asked. "Maybe, we will check it out, be ready for anything," Chloe told Evan, Dean and Ashley as they walked toward the front porch. Chloe stood back and let Dean grasp the doorknob, his machete held slightly out in front of him, not far behind him was Evan with his crossbow at the ready. One nod later the door was quickly opened and movements were quick and sure; through the small kitchen and sitting area and the one bedroom and bath, nothing was there other than them. The four of them let out quiet relieved breaths. "Alright let's get warm, fed, then some sleep. We'll do a two on and off rotation for watch." Chloe slung her pack off her shoulder and into a dining chair opening the bag for some of the cooking supplies. Dean wandered over to the fireplace to get it ready while Evan and Ashley looked around for any other supplies to either use now or take when they left.
