Dear Editor, I am writing in response to the Janet Street-Porter article titled "Why I Hate Facebook." I agree and I also disagree with some of her points that she issued. For example, Janet Street-Porter included the fact that online relationships are not real relationships, bullying and peer pressure, girls post inappropriate photos without realizing the consequences and that kids are losing social skills to survive in the real world. I also strongly agree on the fact that online relationship are not real relationships and also the fact that kids are losing social skills to survive in the real world. Those are the points that I particularly agree with in the article. Facebook is a social media app that is used to allow people to send photos and communicate by using the Internet. when using apps like this one, there are many different things that can make a person change their mind in using Facebook or other social media apps. These can be problems such as meeting random people online who are plotting ways of harming you such as using the method of grooming, which can alter a young minds head and make them do things that they wouldn’t normally do. I agree with Janet’s statement on the point that bullying and peer pressure is a big issue on social media, let alone Facebook. The reason why I agree with this point is because one in three young people have been threatened online. Whether it is an empty threat or a violent threat, it’s still a threat. Cyber bullying leads to people having low self-esteem and a damaged view of the way they see themselves. Those people who are subject to such cyber bullying are up to nine times more likely to consider suicide than those who haven’t experienced it. Another reason why I agree with the fact that bullying and peer pressure is a big issue on Facebook and why Janet Street hates Facebook, is because it can lead to things such as cyber bullying, which is a method that is used to harm so
