Dear Mr. Haskins, I am writing this letter to inform you that the organization that I am leading is concerned about the plans of your company, and it is terribly troubling our organization. We are having this high amount of nervousness about the proposed mergers of dairy companies and bigger, industrialized farms, geared up to provide the bigger food manufacturers with everything on a plate. If this proposal would ever come to an agreement, many small farmers would not be able to survive. It will ruin their production, leaving them with no future. Those farmers are relying with their products, which they hope those products would give them income, income that is merely supporting their living. My grandparents were once farmers, and by planting and harvesting, they managed to send their children to school. Now, imagine those farmers that mostly have many children, where would they get their hope if the only way they know to make a living would be taken away from them? Organization has also heard about your company selling unhealthy, and overpriced food. We are aware that your company is second to none in your treatment of your staff, but how about the food you sell, and its consumers? We are living in a world where ‘quality’ is being interpret as convenience and innovation, and consumer interest in health issues’ is interpreted as ‘low fat and calorie counted ranges. Is this what your business is all about? To earn money regardless of the fact that this business has many bad effects on people’s health? I have given the problem some thought and I suggest that you should modify your treatment to every individual who are consuming your products, and it sure will help you in the long run. Start with pulling off your proposal to merge your company and the other big companies, but if not, just make sure that the farmers would receive enough money in order for them not just to survive, but to have a life, too, and not to just exist i
