Introduction The word industrial engineering is the combination of two words “industrial” and “engineering”. According to oxford dictionaries Industrial engineering simply means the area of engineering concerned with the design and effective operation of industrial processes. Industrial engineering is the field of engineering which deals with the optimization of complex processes or systems (Wikipedia 2015). It is a discipline that is mostly concerned with the design, management, development, and fabrication of integrated systems of people, materials, and equipment for all kinds of manufacturing and services operations. According to Fraser, Industrial engineers are also called efficiency engineers because they look for the most effective ways for an organization to apply the different basic factors of production such as people, machines, resources, and energy. Just like the way computer make things look easier and faster so also does industrial engineers make the design management and construction of things more efficient and time saving. Industrial engineers try to figure out different ways to manufacture and fabricate parts and products, or to deliver services, with the purpose of achieving utmost efficiency. What Industrial Engineers Do Industrial engineers find ways to eliminate wastefulness in production processes. They develop efficient ways to use people, machines, resources, information, and energy to create a product or provide a service. Summary of Event: Before the advent of transistors, the components electrical circuitry required were of substantial size. An example is the early version of the computers, they were so big that they could fit into a large room; this was due to the large elements needed to produce those calculations. But now much powerful computers are available in the size of notebooks. This massive reduction in size was possible due to the creation of transistors in 1947 (Voland, 2014). With the
