The play titled " Tatlong Yugto, Tatlong Babae" written by Gawad Palanca and Gawad Tanglaw awardee Liza Magtoto under the direction of acclaimed director Roobak Valle staged at Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium last June 5, 2015 was counted with 3 distinct, unique, and confident women from different age-brackets as they uprise from discrimination . ADP Corporation and NaFlora 's artistic work is a set of euphonious monologue that exude empowered women who value their rights, know themselves- their strengths and weaknesses, and realize their significant role in the society. Wenah Nagales splendidly gave life to Marigold, a former triathlon achiever who believes that she can manage following her dreams and being a mother, but ended up prioritizing and nurturing her child. Jasmine who was trapped in a bathroom and faced her own angst regarding protecting oneself remained believing that she can and she would always protect herself, is impressively portrayed by Karen Jaysett Bongco. Lastly, Maria Alilia Bagio commonly known as Mosang gutsily enacted Petunia- an old maiden at her menopausal stage who commits that it is never too late to do the things that she desires. I got really engaged in watching the play because it really appeals to the heart. I felt mixed emotions during the entire course of the play. Each story is sensitively written concerning the issues women of different ages are currently facing. The play is not only universal but it is also culturally bound. It was able to show traditional gender roles- the gender disparity between Filipino males and females. It addressed how gender stereotyping in our culture is still very strong wherein young women are expected to be home early due to their vulnerability, mothers are obliges to care for children, and maidens are expected to be weak and inactive. Despite these, the play effectively and creatively illustrated how these women were empowered and attuned by their realizations. I commend
