I am attending college to unlock opportunities, become more independent, and to make more money that will enable me to have a better lifestyle. People who attend college open up their choices for jobs and are more qualified to a greater variety of careers. Many jobs require a range of specific skills and knowledge that only a college degree and program can provide. College work will challenge me and inspire me, also developing me into a mature and responsible adult while boosting my confidence. A college education will secure my future and help me qualify in fields I am interested in. What are your career goals? That’s a good question. My specific career goals are to get my Associates Degree in Nursing. Ever since I was young, growing up to be a nurse was always my main goal. I have been in and out of the hospital being that my brother is sick. I’ve always tried to comfort him by bringing him his favorite movie to watch together or I would just sit there and listen to anything he wants to talk about. When the RN comes in to check up on him I’ve noticed that the one person that actually has the one on one with the patient is the RN. They are the ones that interact with the patients towards their needs in all aspects, being emotional and medical. I am greatly looking forward to providing passion and commitment to ensuring that quality and effective care is being provided towards my patients and that I am providing a right kind of atmosphere and environment that is contributive to his or her recovery. My family as a whole influence the choice I made of furthering my education, but the biggest factor was my parents. Ignoring college after high school was never an option but don’t get me wrong, my parents didn’t force me to go to college, they always said it was my option if I chose to go or not.
