The purpose of our senior design project is to build four small vehicles that run on energy other than combustion, fossil fuels, nuclear power sources, or the use of any live animals. The American Association of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) issued this challenge to students all around the world. The challenges issued by ASME are different every year and are given to students during the fall semester of every year. The project started on August 2011 and completion is to be done before the competition on April 2012. Ideas for completing this project are to get sponsored, until now no sponsorships have been made the design process continues. One major factor that our team must first understand is the theoretical aspect side. It is important that each vehicle is thoroughly examined before the fabrication process is to occur. After each vehicle is examined in ways such as energy stored, predicted time of completion of three meters, and component comparison, the final designs would be sent to fabrication. As a team member, I am in charge with calculating such values to ensure the fastest time possible for each vehicle. Things that I can do better as a team member is to have better time-managed meetings. The meetings that are given weekly are a good reminder of the important tasks at hand but are not time-effective. Too much time spending on the same factors that should be considered or addressed should not take up most of the meeting time. Instead, each individual team member should spend time outside of the meeting to address these issues and discuss progressive reports during meeting. I, myself, am guilty of this and is something that I can work on for this upcoming semester. In addition, meetings with our mentor should be given at more a convenient time in which all group members can attend. This would eliminate lost time at team meetings. As far anything that Dr. Peel can improve on is minimal. The verbal 5-minute status r
