School is supposed to be a peaceful place where you learn and plan for your future. Sometimes that peacefulness can be damaged by peers. Not only physically, but verbally bullying as well. The effects bullying can have on someone is something that may last throughout ones life, or something that may end their life. Bullying is an issue that should not be taken lightly. Years ago bullying was known to be just in school and not that harmless, but lately the term bullying has a whole different meaning. Bullying is the act of purposely harming or threatening to harm another person through physical or emotion abuse. Now bullying has escalated throughout schools and even over the internet which has become very dangerous Students should want to go to school because they want to get a better education and they shouldn’t have to worry about if someone is going to harass them day by day. This topic is so important to me because I was one of those children who hated going to school because of the bullies in my class. I never thought that when you get bullied that ignoring them will make them leave you alone, I believed that it would only make matters worse. It was my freshman year, a year that I would never forget. Freshman year was the worse. This was the year that I literally faced bullying. It was not physical, but was more verbal. People were saying stuff that I knew wasn’t true, but hurt me so much. They tried getting other people to turn against me and to talk mess, family and old friends even turned on me, but no matter what never stooped down to their level and gave in to their non-sense. Although I was tormented freshman year I always kept my head high and no matter what others said I always tried to make the situation positive. As my sophomore year came things continued happening.
