Online vs. traditional education is a much talked about topic, most people prefer one over the other. I chose the topic of online and traditional education and I am comparing flexibility, discipline, major choice, success rate, and social interaction. The first point is flexibility. Online education is extremely flexible but traditional can also be very flexible. Many people say online education is to flexible. In a personal experience someone I work with said that she took an online class and said she completely forgot about the class until she realized she had a failing grade on her final grades. The traditional root can be flexible but it also has set times where you need to be in that class or an assignment is due. Many mothers, fathers, and people who have jobs take classes in the traditional setting. Colleges offer many options like night/ evening classes, early morning classes, and classes in the middle of the day, it is extremely easy to work around your schedule depending on where you choose to go. Discipline also ties in with flexibility, you have to have a lot of self motivation to do an online class, with traditional classes you have a set time to be in the class and it isn't as easy to set off your assignments to do something else. Discipline is the second topic, discipline has to do with self motivation and organization (Bird.) With online classes you need a very good amount of self-motivation and organization, if you're not good with self-motivation and setting schedules for yourself an online class isn't a good choice. When I first started college I took an online class and I had to drop it a couple weeks in because it wasn't a good fit for me, it was to much trying t figure out how the online classroom worked and setting a good strict schedule to complete assignments. If you are good at setting deadlines and prioritizing your school work it is easy to succeed in an online class (Bird). If you are a student
