There are different types of primates since the beginning of evolution; primates were first discovered approximately 50-55 million years ago. Two particular ones would be the Prosimians and Haplorhini; Prosimians are primates that were mainly in tropical rainforest, from Madagascar, and are known for being night animals with big eyes; Haplorhini are primates who scientist say we humans have evolved from many millions years ago, some Haplorhinis have similar skulls features to humans; these two categories of primates are different in numerous ways but they both have their similarities in how they live. Lemur: ( Prosimian), are a type of primate they are found on Comoro island, they are native primates and they live a life span of about 18 years. They are a very social group and the usually are all together with their families, females are the most dominate in the families over the males, these lemurs were first discovered about 62 – 65 mya, these primates commonly live in the trees. Loris: (Prosimian), are unique primates that are found in India, Southeast Asian and Sri Lanka. They are covered in different furs such as grey, brown, yellow, red, silver, or golden. Their life span goes from between 15- 20 years. For protection a Loris has poison venomous inside their elbows, so when they feel endanger they lick the elbow area then bite or attack their prey. This process is uses when they feel a prey is going to invade their offspring, so they coat their newborn in to the poison to prevent the prey from attacking or eating their young. Galago: (Prosimian), are best know as bush babies; these primates are located throughout East Africa. The life span for the Galago is about 14 years; Galagos live mainly in hollow tree because the hollow trees provide them with more shelter.
