Nowadays, I found so many gender and racism issues such as the situations that is in the poems which are discussed in my poetry class. Those issues, not only happen in Indonesia, but also in the other countries. In this essay, I choose Adinda’s Letter to Saija to be analyzed. The reason why I choose it, is because the background situation of Adinda’s letter to Saija poem almost the same with the situation in Indonesia nowadays. Another reason I choose this poem, is because the story and language used in this poem really interesting for me. Recently, humiliation towards women, still become ironic happenings in Indonesia. Mostly, women follow their feeling without use their logic if they are in love. That’s why, woman can be easily tricked and fooled by man if she feel comfortable with that man. Some unresponsible men use this condition to make benefits for theirselves. In their opinion, women are weak, women will not be able to do anything even if men do something bad to them. As what happen in Adinda’s letter to Saija, she was tricked by a man who promised to bring her to Padang. Adinda believed in that man so easily. Adinda just follow her heart. Believe that the man was a very kind. It can be seen from how Adinda regarded the man as father. In Adinda’s situation, there was none who gave her advice so she didn’t tricked by the man. The man use that kind of condition. In place where he was respected as a very kind man, and when Adinda trusted him. After he successful made Adinda fell into him, he started to go with his plan. Nowadays, that kind of case also still happen. Many girls being tricked by men trough social networking. When they already fall in love, the unresponsible men ask them to have a meeting then kidnap them. The simpler case also happen in my environment. Some girl friends of mine, being silly after they fall into a boy. They are willing to do everything that their boyfriends wants. That was such an ironic
