It was the 14th of April 2015, the crisp summer air filled the local park. The clear blue sky, its colour so pure that it almost looked unreal. A few clouds spread around the sky forming interesting shapes. When I looked around, I saw myriads of bright-coloured flowers and plants were embracing me. The eye-catching butterflies and bees were dancing around collecting nectar from flowers. I watched the leaves move in the wind. Soft. Slow. Gentle. It was almost as if they were whispering. Always saying something I never quite caught. The only sound I heard was the rustling of the leaves as birds fluttered among them, whistling merrily to each other. Then almost instantly I heard another sound. A voice. His voice. A very familiar voice. A husky one. He walked towards me. On a face so straight, he had a spark of mischief in his dancing eyes. He stopped in front of me and looked at the empty space beside me on the bench. His eyes asked if he could sit and I smiled. I don’t even know what we were talking about. I just listened to the sound of his voice, the sound of his laugh. Oh, I just loved the way his words affected the rhythm of my pulse. I got lost in him, and it was the kind of lost that’s exactly like being found. A cold wind occasionally whipped around causing me to shiver. The wind started sighing and thrashing the tree tops. The howling of the wind frightened us. The coldness seeped through my dress and chilled my skin. I quickened my pace as the clouds began to gather in the sky. Ominous black clouds covered the sky and released a sudden shower. The sprinkling turned into a torrential downpour. The downpour sounded like dancing feet, reminding me of my love for salsa. The bone-chilling cold seemed unbearable in the howling wind and icy rain. The sound of thunder rolled through the area as a lightning bolt split the sky.
