Introduction What is fashion? Fashion essentially is a term used to describe how a style of clothing is the traditional mode of expressing one's self-admiration. Fashion can be described as the ever-changing style of clothes worn by those with and without cultural status. A fashion trend occurs when others tend to imitate or copy this style of clothing worn by people who have a higher social status than them selves. Fashion tends to vary greatly within our society over time, but also are affected by age, occupation, sexual orientation, location and social class. Today, a fashion trend starts with a fashion designer, who design a spring and fall collection based on cues and inspiration they have gathered throughout the season. These cues can include popular culture, celebrities, music, politics, nature or something else entirely. Firstly, fashion is a huge industry in most countries and is worth over 1.7 trillion dollars. Despite the misfortune to give the fashion industry an expectable definition, the global market size is estimated at two hundred billion dollars. A fashion trend tends to occur when one starts to resemble and follow the clothing style. In today’s world the importance of style and fashion tends to be in my opinion highly overrated. The way someone looks and dresses is the first impression people have of you. It is also whether you want to admit or not it is how you judge someone when you first meet them. In order to provide a first impression of someone you should be dressed in a way that would suit your individual style and does not give an individual an unpleasant first impression. Fashion tends to vary within our society over time, but also it is affected by age, occupation, sexual orientation, location, and social status. Even though fashion trends are set by design each individual is able to put their own spin on fashion. By doing this it sometimes starts its own trend with in the younger crowds.
