I don’t even know how to chill out”. “Beyoncé” (qtd.in Cartridge, 2014, p.20). This quote by Beyoncé represents her leadership and empowerment on her career. Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born on September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas. Her father was a record producer and her mother was a stylist. She has a younger sister, named Solange. Her heritage is African-American, French Creole and Native American. Knowles' first name is an homage to her mother's maiden name, Beyince. Beyoncé influence included Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson. As a child Beyoncé was shy and had few friends. Her parents singed her up for dancing class when she was seven years old, so she could make more friends, when her parents sow her for the first time performing they were incredibly surprised. Beyoncé had found the way to break out of her shyness and a long way she discovered she had real talent. She began singing and winning local talent contests. The parents realized that performing made their daughter happy and that she was gifted enough to have a shot at a success. Beyoncé Knowles and her childhood friends Latvia Roberson, Kelly Rowland, and Loya Luckett formed a quartet called Girl's Tyme. They performed in their backyards and at Tina Knowles' hair salon. (Cartridge, 2014, p.45). After singing at local events, they got their break after entering “Star Search” in 1992 and losing the competition. The group was disappointed. Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé’s father and Rowland's legal guardian, decided to help the girls reach their dreams of becoming singers. This decision by Mathew eventually affected the whole family. Their income had been cut in half, causing the family to move into two different apartments. When the group was signed to Columbia Records in late 1996, it gave the entire family a second chance at making things work. (Arenofsky, 2009, p.100). Girl's Tyme underwent several name changes, becoming The Dolls, then Something Fresh, and then Cliché. Transition Destiny’s Child became very famous with the song “Killing Time” and sold over one million copies in 1997. Between 1997 and 2001 the group governed as the world’s top selling female vocal group. They become very famous and sold over 60 million records. After this success the Destiny’s Child took a break. Abeyance did not stop even though her group took a break in 2003, she came up as an independent woman and released her first album “Dangerously in Love” Her solo work was a massive success .The album burst into the Billboard 200, going straight to Number One, and sold over 300,000 copies in its first week alone. It succeeds made it platinum, in just three short weeks, and won to five Grammy Awards. (Cartridge, 2014, p.99). In 2004 at the age twenty Beyoncé started dating the Hip Hop artist Shawn Carter better known as Jay-Z; the couples made a song together called “Crazy in Love” in May 20, 2003 and they made $23million and wine the best Video Awards. Beyoncé continued to grow successfully in many plays she acted, she sang and married. She became even more powerful when married Jay-Z got married with Beyoncé in April 4, 2008. After 15 years Matthew Knowles, who has managed Beyonce's career since her early days in Destiny's Child, will no longer be her manager, that did not give the reason for the division, but statements from both sides point to an harmonious separation. She loved her father and she was very gratefully for everything that she learned from him. Mathew always knows how to keep the family and the business separated from each other, and he was very proud of his daughter who she is and what she achieved and only to see her success in future.
